Bear in mind that many reflux column designs do not output hot vapor at all, so these will not be able to heat a thump keg. If you’d like to get more elaborate, you could always build a kegerator or jockey box and attach a nicer tap handle. As more steam continues to come through, this will eventually raise the temperature of the liquid in the thumper so that it starts to boil. I think, though, rather than warming the vodka, I’d just put a quantity of hot water in the thumper and add the vodka to that. A 5-pound tank is convenient if you’re only making a keg at a time, and should last for a half a dozen or so batches of beer.
